The Client/Server Process:

How does it work?

1)  All toolpaths are managed locally on your system but are calculated on the VoluMill Server.

2)  When you are ready to generate a toolpath, you push the "OK" button on the dialog box. The VoluMill Client bundles the geometry and parameter information and sends it to our secure servers.

3)  All data is transmitted over the Internet and is protected with Military grade encryption to ensure security and confidentiality.

4)  All data transmission is compressed (better than a 10:1 ratio) to ensure efficient transmission regardless of your Internet connection speed.

5)  Once the data is received on our server, the toolpath is calculated and returned back to you within seconds. You will likely notice no significant increase in the time it takes to generate a toolpath.
What does it mean?

1)  The VoluMill Client integrates seamlessly into your existing CAM system so that you can use VoluMill with no disruption to your current work flow.

2)  When the toolpath is returned from the VoluMill Server, it can be backplotted, verified, modified, and posted, exactly like any other toolpath in your existing CAM system. Plus, unlimited access to the service means you can generate as many toolpaths as you like until you are satisfied.

3)  An economical monthly subscription rate means no large upfront expense for purchasing and learning a new CAM system.

4)  Updates and upgrades to the service occur automatically so you always have access to the latest and best performance. There is no need to wait for the next release of your CAM system; you will always have the highest quality in the timeliest fashion.
