Introducing VoluMill
The most advanced milling toolpath available
Safely run your machine tools at top speeds and feeds
Dramatically reduce cycle times and increase your profits
Easily handle any pocket geometry and efficiently machine open shapes
Extend the life of your cutting tools and reduce stress on your machine tools

And the best part?

You don't even have to change your existing CAM system to use it

How does it do it? Try our VoluMill Interactive™ to see.

You can increase your machining productivity and reduce your cutting tool expenses beginning today. VoluMill precisely manages material removal rates to enable your machine tools and cutting tools to perform at peak efficiency, removing material dramatically faster than with traditional toolpath strategies. The technology works with your existing CAM system and requires virtually no training. The only thing you need to learn is just how much faster and smoother you can machine your parts on existing hardware. See how quickly the VoluMill Advantage will increase your productivity.

For example, 6061 T6 aluminum on a Haas VF3 was machined with a 1/2-inch OSG Blizzard end mill at 12,000 RPM, .500" DOC, and a 75% stepover, at 500 IPM (see the table below). The sound was smooth and consistent, with no screeching or groaning, and the spindle load meter never hit 100%. Machining the same part very aggressively with traditional strategies took nearly twice as long, and put the machine tool and cutting tool under tremendous stress.

Parameter: Typical Toolpath: VoluMill Toolpath: VoluMill Advantage:
Cycle Time 98 seconds 50 seconds Shorter Cycle Time
Feedrate 200 IPM 500 IPM Faster Feedrate
Spindle Speed 8,000 RPM 12,000 RPM Higher Spindle Speed
Spindle Load spikes over 100% always below 90% Reduced Spindle Strain
Stepover 40% 75% Larger Stepover
Depth of Cut .250 inches .500 inches Deeper DOC
Passes 2 1 Fewer Passes
Testing performed by GateWay Community College, Phoenix, Arizona
Machine: Haas VF3
Cutter: 1/2" OSG Blizzard 3 flute flat endmill
Material: 6061 Aluminum T6

VoluMill Toolpath: Smooth curves, consistent loads, low stress, low wear.

Typical Toolpath: Sharp corners, varying loads, high stress, high wear.
